ABLEDATA

Macro International Inc. maintains the ABLEDATA website for the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research of the U.S. Dept. of Education

Format           resource database

ABLEDATA provides information on its website about assistive technology, assistive technology products, and rehabilitation equipment available from domestic and international sources.  ABLEDATA can also connect individuals working to make a business or public facility accessible with organizations that can assist in learning ADA regulations, as well as suppliers whose products comply with these requirements.  An individual wanting to sell a product can list it in ABLEDATA free-of-charge, which provides an opportunity for a national audience to learn about it.  ABLEDATA’s database of assistive technology contains objective information on thousands of assistive products. For each product, a detailed description of the product’s functions and features is provided, as well as price (when available) and contact information for the product’s manufacturer and any distributors.  ABLEDATA also has an Assistive Technology Library, which is a searchable list of books, articles, papers and other paper and electronic publications dealing with topics relating to assistive technology.  The ABLEDATA Information Center answers questions on assistive technology via telephone (toll free), email, TTY, fax and regular mail.
