On September 22, the Senate Committee on Appropriations issued its fiscal year 2012 Department of Health and Human Services appropriations and report. The Committee rejected the proposed NCBDDD/CDC (National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) consolidation of CDC disability programs. Attached are the four pages on NCBDDD from the Committee report. On September 13, 33 members of the House of Representatives wrote CDC Director Thomas Frieden opposing the proposed disability consolidation. The letter is available for download: PDF.
