AAHD in the Spotlight

AAHD Executive Director Roberta Carlin was invited to participate in “Honoring the Promise,” an event to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, at the Eisenhower Theater in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. The opening remarks paid tribute to AAHD’s Project Accessibility, the only grantee program recognized at the fundraiser, which raised $2 million for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

AAHD staff presented at the symposium Inequity to Equity: Promoting Health and Wellness of Women with Disabilities at Gallaudet University, which was sponsored by Howard University, the American Psychological Association and Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. AAHD staff also presented at the National Council on Independent Living conference this summer in Washington, DC, and at the Southwest Conference on Disability in Albuquerque, New Mexico. AAHD continues to be a national sponsor of this valuable annual meeting.
