Percentage of People with Disabilities in Workforce Declines from February 2009 to February 2010

In February 2010, the percentage of people with disabilities in the workforce was 21.9 — a decline from 2009, when 23 percent of those with disabilities were in the labor force, according the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. The employment rate in February 2010 for people without disabilities was 70.1 percent.

The unemployment rate for those with disabilities was 13.8 percent, compared with 10.3 percent for people without disabilities (not seasonally adjusted).
