AAHD Accepting Applications for AAHD Scholarships

We want to thank the many qualified applicants who submitted applications to AAHD’s Scholarship Program. Unfortunately, we had more talented applicants than money. We encourage those who did not win scholarships to apply again and wish them the best of luck in their studies.

The 2010 winners are Amanda Dennis, Boston University School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts, and Kerri Morgan, Washington University of St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri.
AAHD created its Scholarship Program to support students with disabilities who are pursuing undergraduate/graduate studies in public health, health promotion, and disability studies, including disability policy and disability research. The scholarships are funded by royalties from the Disability and Health Journal.

The scholarships are a maximum of $1,000. Applications are due November 15, 2010, for the 2011 scholarships. AAHD’s Scholarship Committee will evaluate all applications and make a decision in December, and the winners will be announced in January 2011.
