Disability Organizations Boycott Hotels Over Accessible Swimming Pools
The July 19 Los Angeles Times and Seattle Post reported a boycott by the American Association of People with Disabilities, National Disability Rights Network, ADAPT, and National Council on Independent Living of hotel chains represented on the boards of directors of the American Hotel and Lodging Association and Asian Hotel Owners Association. At issue – the hotels opposition to federal rules requiring accessible swimming pools under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
