The “Meaningful Use” of Electronic Health Records (EHRs)

On May 7, the Consumer Partnership for e-Health (CPeH) wrote CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid), on behalf of 25 endorsing organizations, including AAHD, advocating a consumer benefit to federal EHR regulations that are intended to promote “meaningful use” (MU). Federal law requires EHRs to “meaningfully” improve patient care and outcomes. The May 7 letter is is available for download: PDF.
